WHAT
A Wellbeing themed snail mail envelope with a personalized letter wellbeing tools and art postcards

Modern life is overstimulating our nervous systems, making us stressed, unhappy and confused. Millpond is a snail-mail subscription service that aims to be part of the solution.

Each month you receive a hand addressed envelope and letter, as well as carefully curated materials concerning a particular theme of importance to wellbeing - Uncertainty for example, as well as Joy, Control, Curiosity and more.

In addition to the letter, contents include:

  • an Invitation to Ponder - a series of on-theme questions to consider
  • an Invitation to Wonder - quotations reflecting diverse and inspirational thinking related to the theme
  • an original print
  • one or more art postcards
  • a selection from poems, wellbeing tools, seed packets and recipes

We describe the contents of published issues in the ORDER section of this site.

Through Millpond, we invite you to reflect, play, create and connect in ways that will develop your emotional and relational muscles.

Life passes quickly. Millpond will help slow it down.

WHO
Kerry Evans, CEO of a mental health charity and psychotherapist working with individuals and couples
KERRY EVANS
Kerry studied English Literature at university. Then she worked as a secretary in an investment bank, rising to Vice President (not as grand as it sounds) over ten years before having a family and retraining as a psychotherapist. She is CEO of a mental health charity and provides therapy to individuals and couples.
Jem Sharman, co founder of Millpond Press, a monthly Wellbeing themed snail mail subscription
JEM SHARMAN
Jem didn’t study anything at university. He fancied himself as a singer/songwriter. Sadly no one else did. Neither did they think much of his novel. So he started a career in advertising where he spent 30 years producing the creativity of others. He is now a practising artist and mid-way through a fine art degree.
Our intentions with Millpond are to reflect a rich mix of voices and experiences, to use recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible, and to grow organically without funding.

WHY
Kerry and Jem met in the early autumn of their lives. They’ve had their ups and downs, both collectively and individually, but pondering on those ups and downs has proved good for their nervous systems and their relationships. Developing the Millpond wellbeing themes and questions has been a way of navigating a transitional time in their own lives. Combining Kerry’s insight into human psychology and her love of words with Jem’s print production expertise and belief in the healing power of art, they have launched Millpond.
